Cadaques to Segovia

Our hotel in Segovia. 2nd floor right corner was our room.

Friday morning, we sadly left Cadaques and started our drive to Segovia about 8 1/2 hours away. About an hour on the road, the car broke down. We had to be towed to the Girona airport where we were given another car. Needless to say we lost a few hours so it was after 9:30 pm before we made it to Segovia. Most of what we drove though looked like Southern California, dry, rolling hills, some trees. Crops were mainly corn and hay but didn’t see a lot of herds of animals. In Segovia, I came down with a stomach bug so I spent the day in our room being sick. Tamar got out and was able to visit the Jewish quarter, the museum and the Jewish cemetery. Friday night when we arrived, we had to park the car outside the walled city and had to walk up many flights of stairs. At the top, in the old city was a Sephardi restaurant. We went in to have something to eat even though it was 10:30 pm. They had pork on the menu. When I asked the waitperson, I was told the restaurant was a blend of Spanish and Sephardi food. I found that weird. The restaurant also had this mural that seemed to depict scenes of Jewish life. It was also strange. Looked like part showed Mordacai and Esther, had medieval men with swords. Wish I had taken a picture.
