Wednesday morning started with a talk by a young Israeli girl named Murphy who is a member of Breaking the Silence, an organization of veteran combatants who have served in the Israeli military since the start of the second intifada who work to expose the Israeli public to the reality of everyday life in the Occupied Territories. One concern is the price Israel is paying by putting its young people in difficult situations. After this talk we went up to the Hadassah hospital to see the Chagall stained glass windows that represent the twelve tribes of Israel. Next we went into the West Bank and visited with two men, one Israeli and one Arab, who are members of Roots. This organization draws Israelis and Palestinians together in spite of the mistrust and fear that exists between them. We finished the day at a bakers worship where we made a pretzel and a roll with chocolate chips inside.

Robbie, your trip sounds amazing. Who arranged it? You can tell me all about it in Eastern Europe. Are you stopping at Eileen’s on your way home? Let me know. Reggie
