Heading for Tzfat

On Friday we headed out of Jerusalem. Stopped on Mt. Scopus for one final view of the city. The drive up to Tiberius was mostly through the West Bank. We made a brief stop at the spot on the Jordan River that Jesus was supposedly baptized. Once back in Israel proper we stopped at Kibbutz Ashdot Yaakov. Learned a lot about how the kibbutzim went from being purely socialistic to some kind of mix of capitalism and socialism. Many kibbutzim ran into financial difficulties but some that were able to make adjustments are doing better. Near Tiberius we stopped at the tomb of Rabbi Meir Baal HaNes, a famous Jewish sage who lived in the time of the Mishnah. We also stopped to taste wine made from different fruits and other things. Very delicious so I bought a bottle of passion fruit and dark chocolate. Once in Tzfat we had a wonderful Kabbalah Shabbat service on a balcony while watching the sunset. The first two pictures are from Mt. Scopus. The next two are from the kibbutz including one of their many bomb shelters. There were times when the children lived in the bomb shelters. The next picture is a view of the Kinneret on the way out of Tiberius. The last, the sunset during Kabbalah Shabbat.
