On the last day in Tel Aviv we went to the Yitzhak Rabin Museum which is very well done, combining info on Rabin’s life and the history of Israel during that same time period. We also went to Rabin Square and saw the spot where he was assassinated. One of our last experiences was touring south Tel Aviv to explore graffiti art. There are actual groups that give tours of this art. It is much more tolerated in Israel in certain places. This area is mostly industrial with small machine shops and furniture makers. One of the carpenters we came upon was sporting a U of O t-shirt. I also included a photo of the apartments in the neighborhood. Very few Israelis use drying machines. We finished up our journey with a wonderful dinner and discussion of the trip. Most of us were more hopeful after seeing some of the wonderful organizations that are trying to build cooperation and trust. It is also so heartbreaking to see how difficult it can be for all people living in Israel and the West Bank. Israelis are rightfully fearful because Palestinian children are still being taught to hate Jews and Palestinians are still doing suicide attacks on Israelis. In fact there were two incidents in the last few days leaving 3 Israelis dead. Palestinians are subjected to terrible hardships by Israel’s attempts to keep its citizens safe. We have to keep the dialogue open in hopes of building trust.

Great Photos and info. Thanks for your thoughts. Interesting the variety of photos and POV each of your travel mates have.
