Today Tamar and I drove up north of Hamburg to an arm of the Baltic Sea called the Ostsee in German. Our first stop was an old German town called Lubeck that was not bombed during World War II. Here are some pictures from the town.

After lunch we drove to the sea to a place called Travemunde. Here we walked along the jetty and out onto the sand. We also stopped for some snacks. I had a beer and we were seated in these cool protected chairs. Here are more pictures.

We then made another stop by the sea called Timmondorfe Strand. Here we encounter these special kinds of dancers dressed like sea creatures walking on stilts. They stayed on those stilts at least for an hour. They were incredible. In fact this whole area was really neat. Here are some more pictures.

So a typical PORTLAND day, eh?

Robbie, all I can say about this post is – in traveling you get to see lots of different things. I’m I’m taking notes so maybe I can ask you about some of these things when you get back. Good to see another picture of you as well as one of your friend Tamar. Peggy
