We stopped at the port of Hammerfest and were given an opportunity to go ashore on our own. Our first stop was this delightful little church which was consecrated in 1961 and was inspired by the racks used for drying fish in the salty sea air all across northern Norway. Here are pictures taken as we are approaching the port.

Pictures of the church.

After seeing the church, I wandered off to just take pictures of the area.

Street Art

After getting back on board, one of the other roadscholar traveler and I walked around deck five taking pictures. There were some incredible clouds and of course mountains covered in snow.

Robbie, I took a break and went upstairs – what did I see? Out the east window the sky was pale blue with streaks of pale pink. Out of the south window – bright gold with steaks of pale blue. Those moments are special as are the moments you are spending on your trip – I’m glad you are finding someone to take pictures of you on your trip. Peggy
