Ronda

The town of Ronda is separated by a chasm with the old city on one side and the relatively new city on the other. The River Guadalevin lies at the bottom of the gorge. The moors mostly built on the side of the new city. There are also Roman ruins in the town. There are three bridges crossing the canyon. The newest called the Puenta Nuevo was completed in 1793 and has 3 arches. The next oldest, the Puente Viejo was built in 1616 and the oldest bridge was built by the Romans. Here are pictures of the new bridge and views from the bridge.

With our guide we walk down the gorge to the river. Here are pictures taken on the way down.

At the bottom of the gorge, we visited the site of a Roman bath.

Our tour of Ronda continued with a visit to the old part of the city and the bull ring. The bull ring, built in 1785, with a diameter of 66.6 m, is the largest in the world. Here are some more views of Ronda.

I haven’t pictured much food. The food on the trip has been quite good. Here is a picture of our appetizer before dinner at the hotel in Ronda.
