Dan and Berni have a dog named Ray who loves to fetch.

In the evening, we went to a birthday party of a friend of Dan’s. He built this incredible house on a hill with beautiful views. Here are some pictures from the party.

The next day, Berni and I took a nice walk along the beach. We then circled back into the historic district to go to the market. There are quite a number of statues along the beach. There were even decorations left over from carnival. Mazatlan is a very picturesque city.

For dinner, we took a bus north along the water to the Golden Zone which is the major tourist area. There are many bars, casinos, restaurants, etc. We ate dinner at a restaurant right on the beach. There is not a single public bus company. Buses are owned by individuals and they have their own routes. They don’t keep to a fixed schedule. You can flag them down between bus stops.
