Hanging out on Tobacco Caye

Today was a very laid-back day. Spent most of the morning reading and laying in the sun. I did take a short walk around the island. I also talked to the housekeeper. Workers stay on the island and the housekeeper works 12 days and then gets to go home for four days. She doesn’t necessarily work year-round. It depends upon the season. Here are some pictures from my walk.

After lunch and a short rest, Berni and I did go snorkeling on the other end of the island. Didn’t see a lot of fish, but we saw a great variety. The water was pretty warm and calm. Near the end, I spotted this hermit crab with a couple of conch shells. He fascinated me so much I took a bunch of pictures. Unlike the fish, he is a stationary target. Our guide from yesterday helped me identify some of the fish.

Banded butterfly
Another type of coral
Ocean surgeonfish
I couldn’t tell whether this was plant or animal

After going back to our cabin and getting dried off and getting the saltwater washed off, we decided to go back to the bar and have a nice cocktail.

Here are some more pictures from the island.
