First full day in Romania

I arrived in Bucharest early Thursday evening, after two very uneventful flights. Our hotel in Bucharest was small but very comfortable. We enjoyed a wonderful seafood pasta dinner. There seems to be a lot of Italian food in Romania. Friday morning we left to take the train to Brasov. We are staying in a two bedroom apartment right in the heart of the old town. Prices are amazing. You can get an incredible dinner with wine for under $20. Our apartment only costs $191 for three nights. We will be taking two full day tours while we are here. We return to Bucharest on Monday. The old city has a huge central plaza, cobblestone streets, and many restaurants with outside seating. The architecture is varied and interesting. Unfortunately, many buildings are run down and there is a lot of graffiti. This area really has great potential. I’m really glad I’ve come to visit here.
