Costa Rica is a very interesting country. It has not had a military since the mid-19th century. Only 1% of the country has not been vaccinated for Covid. The country is well educated. They are very interested in conservation of resources. Of course it is spectacularly beautiful.
Our first adventure of today was a nice cruise on the Sarapiqui river for the purpose of spotting wildlife. Unfortunately, it was hard to photograph a lot of this wildlife. Here are the pictures that sort of came out.

Some pictures of the general scenery on the water.

Our second adventure was a cooking class. We made these incredible plantain tortillas. We also had two kind of salads, Caribbean style chicken with rice, and beans. It was an excellent lunch. I was surprised though that Costa Ricans eat such heavy food in the middle of the day with such hot, humid weather.

Here are some pictures that were just taken around our Lodge.

After we got back to the lodge from our cooking adventure, the kids went swimming. Later we went on a walk through the tropical rainforest that was across from our room. Unfortunately, it started to thunder and lightning so we had to cut our hike short. Here are some of the pictures that I was able to get though.

Robbie – thanks so much for taking the time to share your Costa Rica
adventure. It sure seems
like they keep you busy! I’m enjoying the pictures of you and Zoe.

The pictures are great Robbie. That is just what grandchild, grandparent adventures are about. It looks like Zoey is having a wonderful time. I loved Costa Rica. Too bad you don’t appreciate coffee. (smile) Reg
