Before starting on today’s activities, I’d like to say how incredible our last three nights were at the Selva Verde Lodge. It was like being in the middle of the rainforest. The rooms were comfortable, the food was good and the kids really loved the swimming pool. It was just amazing how close to nature we were. The lodge was created by an American woman who wanted to bring people to Costa Rica, and show them the wonders of the country. It is a privately owned nature reserve.
Today we drove to Arenal with a number of stops on the way. Arenal is a famous, still active volcano. Our first stop was to visit a place that is a rescue center for Macaws. The birds are free to fly anywhere, but they always seem to return to the center. They will eat right out of your hand. One of them actually landed on my head. However, it was uncomfortable. I took many pictures here and had trouble editing them out. I was just amazed at these birds. So here is a lot of pictures of macaws.

Our next step was to have lunch in Fortuna Town.

After lunch we went on a two mile walk through a rain forest with six hanging bridges.

Finally made it to our lodge. It seems like a lizard wants into our room.

Really…Really…Really COOL.
This trip is so beautiful, more so than others because it is highlighting nature’s beauty. Zoe will remember this trip forever.
