Mazatlan

On Friday, Berni and I said goodbye to the Yucatán Peninsula and flew to Mazatlan. Berni and Dan come down here for about six months of the year. They have a nice two bedroom apartment in the historic part of town.

Their apartment is on the second floor. Berni took me up onto the roof. Here’s some pictures.

Dan paints in a Plaza that is near their apartment. We went there in the evening for dinner. It was a good restaurant with many seafood options.

I had octopus. I know it doesn’t look very appetizing but it was good.

The next day, on Saturday, Berni took me for a walk around the historic district. We walked down to the water. We walked past the cathedral and onto the big central market. I really like this area of Mazatlan. Even though there are tourists all over the place, the area has managed to keep its historic identity.

Walking up from the ocean we went through a fairly well to do area. As we got closer to the market, I took pictures of the architecture. I love the colors that they paint their homes. It is so vibrant.

I bought a papaya that I had for breakfast this morning. Boy was it tasty.
