I made it to Belize

Three plane flights later I am now in Caye Caulker, Belize. I met my friend Berni here. We will be here for four days before we move on to another island. The primary reason we’re here is to do snorkeling on supposedly one of the best reefs in the world. My last flight was on a puddle jumper. There must’ve been a total of 12 passengers. It was a real kick and we had a beautiful view of a full moon. When I got to the airport, I hired a taxi to take me to my motel. The taxis here are golf carts. The driver had his wife and eight-year-old son with him. He drove Berni and I into town to get some food and water. We will use him a couple more times before we leave the island. The place is unbelievable. I feel like I’ve landed in some kind of other world. The island is 5 miles long and 1 mile wide. Tomorrow we move onto the north end of the island to stay in an Airbnb right on the water. Wednesday we will take a full day snorkeling tour.
