On the way to the first Safari Camp

This morning, we left early to drive to the Kilima Safari Camp just outside of Amboseli National Park in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. Kilimanjaro is in Tanzania, but we will still be in Kenya for two more nights. Here are some of the photos of the villages along the way. Lots of local commerce.

We also got a taste of what we were going to see on our safaris. I will try to identify animals as I can.

We did our first ride into the park between the hours of four and six in the afternoon. They don’t allow people in the park after 6:00 pm because in the dark it’s hard to tell tourists from poachers. I am so glad I bought bird watching binoculars for this trip and a new iPhone. Both have added immensely to my enjoyment.  I have shots of both scenery and animals. I will try to identify the animals that are not common.
