Amboseli National Park

Our two excursions into the park were at 6:15 in the morning and at 3:30 in the afternoon. Our Safari camp was literally blocks from the entrance to the park. Our guides truly knew how to spot animals. I also learned a new acronym: ALT – animal looking thing. I took many pictures of elephants. I hope you guys don’t get tired of looking at these pictures. The pictures are shown in the order that I took them.

Elephants put their trunks up in the air in order to smell better. They are trying to sense danger.

A dead elephant skin. When an elephant dies, the range is remove the bones and things, but they leave the skin. Elephants mourn the loss of another elephant. They will return to the spot with that elephant died.

If you tell Lodge that you are having a birthday, after dinner, the employees come out, banging drums and singing with a birthday cake. Wish I had audio for this. It was great fun.
